ごろごろする

1 〔無為に過ごす〕 loaf around [about]; sit [lie] around doing nothing; be idle; idle one's time away.

●日曜は家でごろごろしている. On Sundays I loaf around at home. | I spend Sundays just sitting around at home.

・あの家にはいつも居候が 4, 5 人ごろごろしている. There are always four or five hangers-on loafing around in that house.

2 〔そこここにあるようす〕

●河床には大きな石がごろごろしていた. There were large rocks lying about [scattered about] on the riverbed.

・そんな話は世間にごろごろしている. That sort of thing happens everywhere.

3 〔目に異物感がある〕

●右目がごろごろする. I've got [There's] something in my right eye. | My right eye feels as if there's something gritty in it.
